In a domestic violence case, it sounds like even if they, well, I’m specifically asking, you know, they may not have hit the other person, but they still go to jail and they still have to post a bond. I assume, you know, that that’s what I was asking is, is that, is that normal? Is that kind of abnormal, I guess?

That is normal, and in some cases, once the DA reviews the file, a couple days after the arrest, they might decide, “Okay, this person probably didn’t do anything, and we’re going to drop the charges or release them.”
And if you wanted to wait until the DA reviewed the case, a couple days later, after the arrest, then you have a good chance, if you didn’t do anything and you’re innocent, of them just releasing you.
Otherwise, if you wanted out of custody while they made their decision, then you’d bail out.
