Video – Should I Hire An Attorney For My Personal Injury Case?

BailBonds.Media wants the public to have answers to the myriad of questions that surround the criminal justice system and your constitutional rights. We bring those answers to you in the form of video interviews by Attorneys.Media of legal experts in your area and across the country.

Ray Hrdlicka – Presenter – Attorneys.Media

“You asked me a question (previously). Should a person get a lawyer or not? What creates that tipping point, where I’m not going to get a lawyer here, but I’m going to get a lawyer here?”

Andrew Dósa – Personal Injury Lawyer – Alameda County, CA

“Right. Well, it’s not always possible to determine up front if a case would actually warrant hiring a lawyer. If the person has an injury, but all he really needs to do is go to her doctor and make sure there’s nothing serious, and she’ll be sore for a couple of days, a lawyer probably isn’t necessary. Financially, it might not be worth a lawyer’s time to help someone who only had one or two doctor visits. But it’s important to make sure they get checked out so there isn’t anything hidden or surprise about their medical condition that comes up a bit later.

When it comes to getting a lawyer, it’s always good to have them understand what the process entails, but again, if there isn’t an urgent need… back off. If there is not a sufficient need for urgent treatment because the injury is not serious, then there may not be a need for a lawyer, and they can handle it on their own. Or maybe just deal with your own insurance company, which could deal with the other company and handle things like property damage claims.”
