What are the responsibilities of that person who co-signs for the person in jail?
So, what they’re signing for is the liability on what the full bond amount is…and the promise that that person is going to make their court dates.
If the person doesn’t show up to court, the court will notify us with a letter saying the person didn’t make their court dates.
We’ll reach out to the person who signed for them, asking them, you know, are you in contact with them? Can we get that person to go back to court and add themselves on calendar?
Ultimately, if we cannot find them and the time period passes for us to find them, which is approximately six months, then what they’re signing for is to promise that they pay off the full amount of the bond.
