If somebody gets bailed out of jail, can they go out of town? You hear on TV all the time where the police say don’t leave town, but now you bail them out. Is that the same thing or do you care?

So we try not to tell the person what to do, just to make their court dates. So if they want to go on a vacation, we’re usually fine with that. The biggest thing would be that the court’s okay with that.
So if they’re leaving the state or want to go on a vacation, they’re best to ask the court permission for where they want to go and how long they want to go for. We as bail agents really try to stay out of your life once we bail you out, and we try not to tell you what you can and cannot do.
On some cases, if there’s a large bond and you’re on an ankle monitor, we might put restrictions on your movement or you’re leaving the state or the jurisdiction of the court. But for the most part, we don’t tell you what you can and cannot do or where you can go.

Well that sounds like that’s a very important thing for the friend or family and the defendant to know about.

Right.
